Obituary of Grace Brinkman

Grace M. Brinkman, 86 of Howell, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at home. Grace was born in Staten Island, NY to Ragnhild and Gabriel Ekeland. Grace worked in a hospital in Norway, then for 7 years for lawyer Sam Wetschler in St. George, Staten Island. Grace also worked part time for Catholic Charities and for American Express in New York City. Grace enjoyed bowling and playing the piano. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Holmdel, serving as a Sunday School teacher and on the Fellowship Committee. She is survived by her children, Paul Brinkman and his wife Laurie, Peter Brinkman and his wife Regina, Philip Brinkman and Bonnie Culler and her husband Scott; and eight grandchildren, Nicole Robbins and her husband Tim, Brittany Brinkman, Rachel Brinkman, Amanda Brinkman, Erika Brinkman, Cassie Culler, Brooke Culler, Kyle Culler and one great grandson, Trevor Robbins. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 26th at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 112 Middletown Road, Holmdel. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Grace may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago, IL, 60611.
