Obituary of Hilda Conti

Hilda J. Conti, 82, of Freehold Township passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, January 29, 2015. She was born in the Bronx, moved to County Clare, Ireland and returned to the Bronx at the age of 7. Eighteen years ago, she settled in Freehold Township after raising her family in Morganville. She was employed at A T & T - Bell Labs in Holmdel for 32 years. Hilda treasured her family and friends, and enjoyed spending time at the beach in Ocean City. An avid reader who enjoyed playing Scrabble and watching Jeopardy, Hilda instilled her love of Irish music and heritage in her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Conti in 2011. Hilda is survived by her son, Jim Conti and his wife, Fran of Avon, three daughters, Nancy Jean Predale and her husband, John of Bangor, PA, Norah Conti Stewart of Colts Neck and Regina Purcell and her husband, Stephen of Freehold Township; eleven grandchildren, Jennah, Patrick, Jacqueline, Veronica, John, Caitlin, Elaina, Brendan, Jimmy, Mary and Aidan; two great grandchildren, Xavier and Zander; and her dog, Queenie. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 9:45 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold.
