Obituary of Jacques Ferland

Jacques Ferland, 81, of Farmingdale passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Saint Tite-des-Caps, Quebec and lived throughout Canada until moving to the United States on Independence Day 1967 settling in Farmingdale. He was a union electrician for IBEW retiring in 2000. He was a 4th Degree Knight with the Farmingdale Knights of Columbus and a former Grand Knight who was involved in fundraising for the Knights. He enjoyed hunting and traveling and was well known by the Farmingdale community. Jacques was predeceased by his wife, Denise Ferland in 2010. He is survived by his son, Andre Ferland and his wife, Marianne in Cherry Hill; his daughter, Sylvie Neal and her husband, Frank of Farmingdale; three grandchildren, Suzi Ferland, Danielle Ferland and Michel Ferland; two great grandchildren, Angela and Warren; and the Ferlands close family friends, the Cerchia family, who took care of Jacques. Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 7:45 AM for the procession to his 8:45 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Asbury Avenue, Farmingdale.
