Condolences
Every time Rita would visit Crow Street she would make a point of telling her shy, nerdy, coke bottle glasses wearing cousin (that would be me) what a cute looking guy he was. I never believed her, but it felt great all the same. Rest in Peace.
I'm Rita's Cousin Jack from Michigan. I grew up with Rita and Bernie in Hudson, Pa. I left Pa when I was 14 and move to Michigan. I have not seen Rita or Bernie or their Mom in over 20+ years but kept intouch by phone. I was working out in Conneticut the weekend of Labor Day 2013. I had Labor day off and found out I was only 2 hours away from Bernie & Rita. So I ventured out to Bernies and then went to see Rita. As you can see on her chalk board she wrote"Labor Day 2013 Fun, Family, Friends." To here suprise, me being family and not knowing I would be coming to see her and her Mom. We all reminisced about growing up in Husdon. It was such a great day seeing you.
Rita, I will cherish these pictures forever.
You will truely be missed!!
Love Jack!
Growing up in the shadow of my cousin who played in the Plains High School Marching Band is a real special memory for me. I can't tell you how proud I was to be a kid and see her marching down Abbott Street on Friday nights before the football games. She looked beautiful on those nights and she was even more beautiful on the inside. She's probably getting reacquainted with her Uncle Frank right about now. Rest in Peace.
