Obituary of Ruth Borden
Ruth Grace Borden, 73, of Freehold passed away at home on Monday, February 16, 2015. She was born in Long Branch and lived in Eatontown before settling in Freehold in 2000. Ruth graduated from Monmouth College and then received her Master's Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She touched many lives as a school teacher in the Tinton Falls school system where she worked for over thirty years.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents, John and Ruth Borden; her brother-in-law, Alfred W. Schlechtweg, Sr.; and her nephew and godson, Alfred W. Schlechtweg, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Marie Schlechtweg; one niece, Robin McDonald and her husband, Fred; one nephew, Karl Schlechtweg and his wife, Nancy; one great nephew, Cole J. Schlechtweg and one great niece, Emily P. Schlechtweg, all of Jackson Township.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
