Obituary of Peter Hanson

Peter M. Hanson, 57, of Freehold Township passed away suddenly on Monday, March 2, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Morristown, raised in Old Bridge and lived in Manalapan before settling in Freehold Township. Peter enjoyed saltwater fishing in Gloucester, MA, touring on his Kawasaki motorcycle, watching golf and Nascar races and cooking. He loved traveling, especially cruising the islands, and he planned to retire to San Antonio. Peter was predeceased by his parents, George and Violet Hanson. He is survived by his wife, Carol A. Hanson of Freehold Township; his sister, Donna Kwiatkowski and her husband, Paul of Spring Hill, FL; two brothers-in-law, William E. Rathjen and his wife, Lorraine of North Plainfield, and Richard Rathjen of New Brunswick; his sister-in-law, Jane Swank and her husband, Ralph of San Antonio, TX; his niece, Kathryn Swank; and his nephew, Joshua Swank. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 3:00 PM funeral service at the funeral home on Sunday, March 8, 2015. Interment will be private.
