Obituary of John Stefanick

John Stefanick, 94, of Howell passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. John was born, raised and had lived in Perth Amboy before moving to Howell over 50 years ago. He retired from the Laborers Local 156 in New Brunswick primarily having worked for Murray Construction in Milburn. John was a Sergent in the U.S. Army serving in the 352nd Fighter Squadron from 1942 to 1945 in the European Theatre. He was a life member of the V.F.W. John enjoyed westerns and jigsaw puzzles, but most of all he loved his family. John was predeceased by his wife, Helen Stefanick in 2009; three brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by three sons, John Stefanick, Jr. of Howell, George Stefanick and his wife, Mary of Lancaster, PA and Steven Stefanick of Jackson; three daughters, Sally Kennedy of Brick, Margaret Tucker and her husband, John of Howell and Kathy Iaderosa of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with his funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown at the convenience of the family.
