Obituary of Dorothy Gorman
Dorothy L. Gorman, 81, of Manalapan passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Dorothy was born and raised in the Bronx. As newlyweds, she and her loving husband moved to Louisiana for his tour of duty. They returned to the Bronx and lived there before moving to Old Bridge. Along with her family, they settled in Manalapan in 1967. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Englishtown and the Irish Federation of Monmouth County. Along with her husband, Donald, Dorothy spent many hours at the American Legion in Englishtown. She enjoyed flowers, loved to feed the birds and cooked by, "making reservations."
Dorothy was predeceased by a brother, Harry Maxwell, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald M. Gorman of Manalapan; a daughter, Donna Potts of Jackson; a son, Ken Gorman and his wife, Lisa of Farmingdale; a granddaughter, De-Anna Kostyszyn and her husband, Eric of Texas; and two great grandchildren, McKenna and Brody, who were, "the apples of her eye."
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM with her funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
