Obituary of Joseph Cappuzzo
Joseph Cappuzzo, 87, of Jackson passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Joseph was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY moving to Jackson 17 years ago. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Connie Cappuzzo of Jackson; a son and daughter in‐law, Joseph and Carole of Middletown, a daughter and son‐in‐law, Carolyn and Anthony Panzarino and a daughter, Phyllis Cappuzzo of Freehold; five grandchildren, Anthony Panzarino, Nicole Panzarino, Monique Cappuzzo, Joseph Panzarino and Jacqueline Cappuzzo; and his brother, Victor Cappuzzo. He was predeceased by his brother, Salvatore Cappuzzo and his sisters, Rose D'Antonio and Elizabeth Silvestri.
Joseph was a supervisor and technician for Supreme Equipment Systems Corp. in Brooklyn for 30 years, retiring in 1993. Previously, he owned Holiday Raceway in Brooklyn, NY and had worked as a hydraulics mechanic for Pan Am. He was an Army veteran of WWII with the 339th Field Artillery Battalion. He is a recipient of the WWII Army of Occupation and Victory Medals.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton‐Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown in the shelter.
