Obituary of George Scott

George D. Scott, Jr., 59, of Freehold Township passed away with his loved ones by his side on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. George was born in East Orange and lived in Bloomfield before settling in Freehold Township in 2000. He was a driver for Iron Mountain, Freehold Township for the past two and half years. George was a sports enthusiast and loved the NY Giants and NY Yankees. He played in the Monmouth County Senior Softball League and was the ultimate grill master. George was predeceased by his daughter, Deanna Marie Scott in 1982; his parents, George "Scotty" Scott in 2012 and Marie Scott in 2007; and his mother-in-law, Mercedes M. Miro in 2010. He is survived by his adoring wife of 38 years, Jeanette Scott of Freehold Township; his son, Michael G. Scott of Howell; two sisters, Patti DelTufo of Barnegat and Sheila Murietta of Fontana, CA; one brother, Craig Scott of Springfield; his father-in-law, Edwin Miro of Puerto Rico; one brother-in-law, Eddie Miro of Colts Neck; one sister-in-law, Maria DelCarmen Posada of Boynton Beach, FL; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Meadow. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 10:15 AM for the procession to his 12:00 Noon Funeral Mass at Saint Lucy's Catholic Church, 118 Seventh Avenue, Newark.
