Obituary of Salvatore Carletta

Salvatore Carletta, 87, of Freehold Township, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Salvatore was born in Manhattan, was raised on Staten Island and had lived in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn with his family before moving to New Jersey. Salvatore was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II serving from 1945 to 1947. He worked for New York City Transit for many years retiring in 1988. Salvatore is survived by his three children, James Carletta and his wife, Judy of Toms River, Deborah Petito and her husband, James of Howell, and Joseph Carletta and his wife, Sanae of Burbank, CA; six grandchildren, Kristen Graham and her husband, Christopher of Toms River, Jennifer Carletta of Brick, Michael Carletta of Hackettstown, Christopher Petito of Howell, Gianna Petito of Howell and Reika Carletta of Burbank, CA; and a great granddaughter, Kylee Graham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Inurnment will follow in the Cemetery of the Resurrection, Staten Island. Arrangements by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
