Obituary of Joseph Reid
Joseph F. Reid, Sr., 83, of Jackson passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Care One at Wall. He was born in Englishtown moving to Jackson 33 years ago. A veteran of the US Navy having served in the Korean War, Joe returned home and worked for Woodbridge Pottery as a castor for 35 years. He was the former assistant chief of the Englishtown Fire Department, a member of its exempt association since 1978, and a member of the Englishtown American Legion.
Joe was predeceased by his wife, Millie Reid in 2007 and a granddaughter, Dawn Reid in 2010. He is survived by one son, Joseph Reid, Jr. and his wife, Maria of Naples; two daughters, Sharon Renaud and her husband, Andre of Hightstown, and Tami Reid of Monroe; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his "golden child", Vickie; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
