Obituary of Jesus Melendez

Jesus M. Melendez, 82, of Freehold Township passed away at home on Friday, August 21, 2015. Jesus was born in Puerto Rico and came to the U.S. in 1950 settling in Jersey City. He had lived in Jersey City until retiring to Freehold Township in 2003. Jesus was a butcher for Thumann's for over thirty-five years, retiring in 1998. He was a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, and dear great grandfather. Jesus was predeceased by his wife, Ramona Melendez in 2003. He is survived by his son, Jesus Melendez, Jr. and his wife, Silvana of Strasburg, PA; a daughter, Oby Lisa and her husband, Warren of Howell; four grandchildren, Jason Melendez, Jessica Dick, Michael Lisa, and Warren Lisa, Jr.; and three great grandchildren, Parker Dick, Jack Lisa, and Liam Lisa. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 7:30 PM.
