Obituary of Dorothy McInerney
Dorothy Jean McInerney, 88, of Howell passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune with her family by her side. She was born in Jersey City and had lived in Matawan, Middletown and Spring Lake Heights prior to settling in Howell eight years ago. She was a lab technician for Hudson County for thirty years. An adoring and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she was an avid reader and lover of words who enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, board games, and a great Irish band. Dorothy enjoyed walking the boards in Avon, and loved horses, dogs, and most especially babies. She was a great humanitarian and gave to everyone in need. Her greatest loves in life were her children and grandchildren, and they will miss her every day.
Dorothy was predeceased by her son, Shawn Manzi in 1960. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Lynn Kane and her husband, David, of AZ, Tracy Manzi of Wall, and Alison Manzi and her husband, Frank Pondaco of Howell; her son, Kevin Manzi and his wife, Elizabeth, of Howell; five grandchildren, Kristin Budy and her husband, Josh of AZ, Sean Kane of AZ, Frankee Pondaco of Howell, Nicole Pondaco of Howell, and Sofia Manzi of Howell; and two brothers, Eugene McInerney of FL and Robert McInerney of Lakewood.
Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 8:15 AM for the procession to her 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell.
