Condolences
There are no words to express the sadness I feel in my heart with the loss of Steve. I’ve never met a person who was as giving and with as much integrity as Steve. He never asked for a pat on the back for the work that he did. It was always a pleasure for him to do for people. As a matter of fact when he would buy us pretzels on Friday, I would have to hide the money in one of his pockets so that he wouldn’t find it until later or he would just keep giving it back to me. He got wise to that though and would check his pockets before he left for the day. He taught me so much. Much more than I can express. He taught me what tolerance and patience are. He taught me that no matter what you never give up. I’ve never met a person with the talent for building and making things as he had. He will be sadly missed by all of us who knew and worked with him. I’d like to share a poem that Steve sent us just before retiring. “No matter where in life you roam Whatever be your goal, Keep your eye upon the bagel And not upon the hole!” Julia, Ben & Geri you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I know you will forever miss him as I will. Mary Thompson
I had the pleasure of working with Steve for 10 years at NJM, and although we were both "field" people, we shared the same office day. He was always friendly, pleasant to talk with, and professional in his work. It was a shock to hear of his passing, and I send my sincere sympathy and condolences to his family. May the Almighty Creator hold you all in his hands in this sad time.
I have never met Steven, but in a short period of time I've met hundreds (yes 100's) of people that he has touched. What they say is that they are genuinely happy to have worked with him throughout his many years at NJM Insurance. All of his closest business relationships have had nothing but good words about him. I was told I would be able to meet him at the Christmas party, but now I will have to wait a bit longer, I wanted to thank him for helping me learn his job. Every day when I go out to visit a client I read all his notes and reports. I believe I do a great job because of him, and will continue to... since I now walk exactly where he previously had. Rest in peace Steve!
