Obituary of Leslie Grabowski
Leslie R. Grabowski, 68, of Spotswood passed away suddenly at his home in Naples, FL with his wife by his side on Monday, September 28, 2015. Les was born in New Brunswick and was a life-long resident of East Brunswick before moving to Spotswood with his wife, Kathy. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Les began his career in construction at Gallo Asphalt and was the president of Haskell Excavating, East Brunswick. Along with Kathy, he operated Katcon, Inc., Spotswood for the past twenty years. Les enjoyed spending time in Naples, fishing and boating with family and friends. He loved his wife and his son but the joy of his life was being Pop to his granddaughter, Gabbi.
Les was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Sabina Grabowski; a brother, Thomas Grabowski; his mother-in-law, Margaret Knowles; a brother-in-law, Charles Knowles; and a nephew, John Knowles, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Grabowski of Spotswood; a son, Matthew Doherty and his wife, Claire of Westfield; his granddaughter, Gabriella Leigh; his Knowles brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at Immaculate Conception Church, 18 South St., Spotswood on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 10:15 AM for a visitation followed by his 11:15 AM Funeral Mass. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Jamesburg. For those who desire, memorial contributions in memory of Les may be made to the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, 1663 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020.
