Obituary of Sandra Kraus

Sandra R. Kraus, 72, of Lakewood, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at the Ocean Medical Center at Brick. Sandra was born and raised in Queens, NY and had lived in Atlantic Highlands and Massapequa, NY before moving to Lakewood 16 years ago. With over 25 years of dedicated service, she started her banking career for Chase Manhattan Bank, NYC as a teller, and retired as a Vice President in the mid 1990's. Sandra was a graduate of Hofstra University. She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting and watching movies. Sandra enjoyed an active lifestyle with her dear friends in her community, the Fairways, Lakewood where she was a former president and member of their travel club. She was a world traveler and loved spending time with her family. Sandra was predeceased by her husband, Gene Kraus; a brother, Harold Brown; a sister, Lorraine De Marco; and a nephew, Louis De Marco. She is survived by three nephews, Stephen Brown and his wife, Kim of Fairlawn, Patrick Brown of Bentonville, AR and James De Marco and his wife, Jeannie of Red Bank; two nieces, Cristine Clarke of Chapel Hill, NC and Pamela Brown of Voorhees; 5 grandnephews; and five grandnieces. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday, October 22, 2015. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
