Obituary of Mary Ramirez
Mary "Maria" Ramirez, 85, of Cambridge, MA passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. She was born in Florida, Puerto Rico where she was raised on her family's farm before moving to New York City in 1948. Mary and her husband worked together for Pfizer in Parsippany, she was a line worker and he was an electrician, before retiring to Florida in 1989. A graduate of Wilfred Academy of Beauty, Mary was a hairdresser by trade but discovered a passion for cake decorating after attending a single course. Mary enjoyed gardening, attending church, traveling, and spending time with her family. She loved visiting relatives while on vacation.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Adam Ramirez in 2009, and her brother Johnnie Diaz in 2011. She is survived by her son, David Ramirez and his husband, Scott Bowker; her daughter, Jacqueline Conner and her husband, Tony; four grandchildren, Melissa Smith and her husband, Derick, Stephanie Chambers and her husband, Chris, Tony Conner, Jr., and April Conner; four great grandchildren, Madi Kate, Mackenna, Conner, and Seth; six siblings, Ramon, Angel, Gregory, Louie, Hector, and Moncerate; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home 100 Elton- Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM with her 11:30 AM funeral service to follow at the funeral home.
