Obituary of John Bosco
John J. Bosco, 75, of Freehold Township passed away with his loved ones surrounding him on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born, raised and lived in Brooklyn, settling in Freehold Township in 1971. John was a United States Marine Veteran, a passion that remained with him throughout his life, eventually becoming a Past Commandant of Corporal Philip A. Reynolds Detachment. He was the owner of John Bosco General Contracting, Freehold, an usher and parishioner at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, and a member of the Freehold Parade Committee for countless years. He enjoyed skiing, hunting and bowling at Howell Lanes. He was proud of his Sicilian heritage and found a way to incorporate his traditions into his everyday life. He was an amazing husband, father and nonno, and will be missed by all.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Paula Bosco; his daughter, Anne Caponegro and her husband, Scott, of Freehold Township; one son, Joseph Bosco and his wife, Christine, of Morganville; and his daughter, Jeannine Laricy and her husband, Michael, of Freehold Township; and eight grandchildren, Samantha, Francesca, Luke, Shane, Sabrina, Patrick, Cassandra and Jillian; two sisters, Frances Profaci and her husband, Salvatore, of Freehold Township and Anne Tracy of Freehold Township; three sisters-in-law, Angela White of New York City, Maria DeAngelo of Freehold Township, and Alba Spinelli and her husband, Nicholas, of Jackson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, November 28, 2015 and Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:00 AM on Monday, November 30, 2015 at the funeral home for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
