Dear Poppy, It is hard to realize that you are actually gone, but I know you are in a better place now where you will feel no pain and will experience eternal happiness. I miss you and I will continue to miss you because you were the best grandfather that a girl could have asked for. You were always there for me when I needed you the most. You always offered me warm, tight hugs to cheer me up and never failed at making me laugh. I am going to miss you calling me your little princess and I am going to miss your corny jokes, but I will always remember the great times and laughs we have had together. Dear Poppy, It is hard to see you go. For as long as I can remember, you were always there to support our family and share your love. All of those times visiting your house, you and grandma visiting my family, the family vacations, and time we spent together during the holidays make up many of the fondest memories I have of you. It is crazy how fast we all grew up, but it meant the world to your grandchildren to have you and grandma in our lives. You were always so proud of me, which always felt so comforting. You were there to watch me play soccer, excel through high school, graduate from Rutgers, and start my career. You instilled a drive in my father to excel and push himself beyond his limits, which is a lesson he passed down to his children that now resonates with Kristin, Kelsie, and myself. You were a father figure to our family and someone I have always looked up to. I'll never forget the Easter egg hunts, Christmas, the wooden Pokemon statue you made for me, the times you called me and Nick boneheads, the coins you used to collect for me, and all that TV we used to watch together hanging around the house. Most of all I will miss spending time with you. It is very sad knowing you will no longer be there when I visit, but I am happy that you are in a much better place. I'll never forget you Poppy. Dear Dad THANK YOU!!!! Thank you for marrying my mom and becoming my father. For all the fun times we had and for all the joy you brought into my life. Thank you for being there during the times when I wanted to quit, for helping me keep things in perspective and helping me make the right decisions. For all the times you lent me your talented hands and expertise to build wonderful things. Thank you for showing me how to play baseball and teaching me to defend myself in order stick up for what was right. Thank you for being a wonderful, loving and caring Grandfather and bringing joy into your grand kids lives - just like they brought joy into yours. For all the school, sporting and special events that you so joyfully attended because you wanted to be there for them just like they wanted to be there for You. Thank you for loving my mom and always being by her side when she needed you the most. For all the times you held her hand, together helping each other along the way through the hurdles of life. Thank you for the home you put over our heads and the food you put on our table. For all the times you worked so hard and yet never complained. For all the magical Christmas’s and holidays you created for all of us. Thank you for challenging and beating me on the field as this helped me learn to compete and win on my own. For all the fun snowball fights we had in the backyard, the exploring we did in the woods and the vacations we shared together.
