Obituary of Anthony Pontecorvo
Anthony J. Pontecorvo, 39, of Howell Township, died on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Anthony was born and raised in Brooklyn, and had lived there before moving to Howell in 2003. He worked for Rockwell Global, Staten Island (formerly Garden State Securities). Anthony was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township and a former coach of the North Howell Little League. He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to many.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Raffaela, two sons, Cristino and Anthony, Jr. of Howell; his father, Anthony Pontecorvo of Brooklyn; his mother, Suzanne Bauza and her husband, Louis, of Florida, his sister, Lisa Vergara of Lodi, NJ; two brothers, Michael Pontecorvo of Brookyln, and Joseph Pontecorvo and his wife, Nicole, of Staten Island; his in-laws, Peter and Marie Vecchio of Brooklyn; his sister-in-law, Lydia Ferrante and her husband, Thomas, of Staten Island; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
