Obituary of Elvira Fava
Elvira M. Fava, 79, of Freehold Township, died Sunday, Oct. 5, at Care One at Holmdel, Holmdel. Mrs. Fava was born in Brooklyn and lived there until moving to Freehold Township in 1992. Mrs. Fava was a volunteer in the Thrift Shop at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was also a member of the Senior Center and Friendship Club, both of Howell. Mrs. Fava was an office worker for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., retiring in 1982.
She was predeceased by her husband, Sebastian J. Fava, in 2005; and a brother, Vincent Pepe. Surviving are a son, Joseph Fava and his wife Valorie of Brooklyn; a daughter, Angela and her husband Dom Scotto of Freehold Township; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Daniel Polidoro of Babylon, Long Island, N.Y.; and a sister, Minnie Graziosi of Plainview, Long Island, N.Y.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by her 9 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Chapel, North Main Street, Farmingdale. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
