Obituary of Helen Tillson

Helen H. Tillson, 88, of Freehold Township passed away at Applewood Estates on Thursday, December 16, 2015. She was born in Lawrence, MA, grew up in Andover, MA, and settled in Wilmington, DE to raise her family. In 1993 Helen moved to Applewood Estates where she spent 22 active years. She volunteered for St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church and Applewood Estates where she brought communion to those who were unable to attend mass. Helen enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and volunteering for Easter Seals. She worked at the Historical Society and loved to travel with her husband. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Henry C. Tillson in 2006. She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Stanczak and her husband, Edward, of Freehold Township and Clare Corridori of Sherman Oaks, CA; six grandchildren, Adrienne, David, Mark, Jessica, Dana and Beth; and her newborn great granddaughter, Lily Jade. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Memorial Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Interment will follow at The Oaklands Cemetery, 1046 Pottstown Pike, Route 100, Westchester, Chester County, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Applewood Estates Resident Assistance Fund, One Applewood Drive, Freehold, NJ 07728.
