Obituary of George Snyder

George Snyder, Sr., 73, of Howell, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Jersey City before moving to Howell in 1974. George was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend with a personality that would light up and spark every party with laughter and fun. He was a deeply caring and compassionate man who always thought of others more than himself. He loved his family immensely and continually showed that love by making them his top priority. George was a patient and knowledgeable man, a confidant to many, and loved to encourage others. George is survived by his children; George Snyder Jr. and his wife, Kerry of Beachwood, Lauren Tarnacki of Howell, and Erin Tobiassen and her husband, Ted of New Egypt; five grandchildren, Chase, Corey, Chloe, Paul, and Emily; and his sister, Elaine Burke of Jackson. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral service on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George's name to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
