Obituary of Margarette Gulfin
Margarette "Margie" Gulfin, 61, of Howell, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, at her residence. Mrs. Gulfin was born in Manila, Philippines, and had lived in Manalapan before moving to Howell 10 years ago. She was a primary nurse in the Minor Surgery Unit at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township for the past 13 years. Prior to that, she was a Nursing Supervisor at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Mrs. Gulfin was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale, and a member of their Couples For Christ group. She was a graduate of St. Paul College of Manila. Mrs. Gulfin was a member of Filipino-Americans of Monmouth County.
Surviving are her husband, Antonio "Tony" Gulfin; three children and their spouses, Erik and Michelle Gulfin of Brea, Calif., Leah and Vince Mendoza of Farmingdale, and Allison and Scott Bingemann of Edison; her parents, Mansueta and Albert Johnson of Pennington; a brother, Joseph Johnson of Abu Dhabi; a sister, Cynthia Pua of San Mateo, Philippines; and three grandchildren, Jordan Gulfin, Elisa Gulfin, and Jackson Bingemann.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 8 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale. Interment will be private.
