Obituary of Catherine Barczak
Catherine Barczak, 81, of Freehold, died Thursday, Oct. 9, at Bayshore Healthcare, Holmdel. Mrs. Barczak was born in Star Junction, Pa. and had lived in Brooklyn, Queens, Anchorage, Alaska, and Manalapan before moving to Freehold in 1985. She was a former parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Manalapan, and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Englishtown. She was a member of Sokol in New York. Mrs. Barczak was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was an executive secretary for The Associated Press, Rockefeller Plaza, New York City, N.Y.
She was predeceased by a brother, Michael Sulich; and a sister, Helen Green. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Marion Barczak; two sons, Kenneth Barczak of Howell, and Walter Barczak of Freehold; two brothers, Charles Sulich of New York, and Stephen Sulich of Tennessee; two sisters, Julia Guion and Mary Dorsa, both of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by her 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
