Obituary of Christopher Cusworth

Christopher Cusworth, 90, of Freehold, died Thursday, Nov. 13, at Masonic Home of N.J., Burlington. Mr. Cusworth was born in Worcester, Mass. and had lived in Philadelphia, Pa. before moving to Freehold 64 years ago. He was a member and Lay Leader with the Jerseyville United Methodist Church, Howell. Mr. Cusworth was a member and past master of the Olive Branch Masonic Temple and also the past patron of the Molly Pitcher Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Tall Cedars Shrine, Scottish Rite, Trenton, and the B.P.O.E., Freehold. Mr. Cusworth was a life member of both the V.F.W. and the American Legion, both of Freehold. He enjoyed golf, chess and singing. Mr. Cusworth was an electrician. He owned and operated Mid-Monmouth Electric Contracting. Prior to that, he worked for Nestle, 3M and the A&M Karagheusian Rug Mill. Mr. Cusworth was also an electrical inspector for a number of municipalities in Monmouth County. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Cusworth; three daughters, Donna Hansen of Freehold, Karen Walzer of Freehold, and Christy Cusworth of Lambertville; a brother, Charles Cusworth of Salem, Ore.; a sister, Lillian Fox of Boca Raton, Fla.; four grandsons, Jonathan and Jason Kim and Eric and Jared Hansen; and a great-grandson, Ian Cordova. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at the Jerseyville United Methodist Church, Howell Road, Howell. Interment to follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chris' name may be made to the Masonic Home of NJ, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, NJ 08016.
