Obituary of Ernesto Cayetano
Ernesto Luna Cayetano, 79, of Freehold, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at CentraState Medical Center. He was born in the Philippines and moved to Freehold in 2006. Ernesto was a mechanical engineer and was a longtime executive for Phelps Dodge Philippines and later as the owner and founder of C.M. Furukawa, a telecommunications, construction and engineering firm. Ernesto retired in 2005 to spend time with his children and grandchildren. In his spare time he was an avid sports fan, loved to play golf, and watch ESPN. Ernesto was a respectable business man, generous provider, had a strong personality. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Ernesto was predeceased by his wife, Perlita J. Cayetano; parents, Pedro S. Cayetano and Juliana L. Cayetano; and two brothers, Renato L. Cayetano and Peter L. Cayetano. He is survived by his two daughters, Juliana Cayetano Murphy, and her husband Vincent, of Manalapan, Jesusa Cayetano Abary, and her husband Raymond, of Manalapan; a son, Dennis Juane Cayetano of Freehold; a sister, Alice Cayetano McHugh; two brothers, Manuel L, Cayetano and Oscar L. Cayetano; seven grandchildren, Ernest Abary, Daniel Abary, Joshua Abary, Katelyn Murphy, Kelsey Murphy, Keenan Murphy, Kirsten Murphy; and one great grandchild, Mackinley Murphy.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with his funeral service at 1:00 PM.
