Obituary of Joseph Micalizzi

Joseph J. Micalizzi, 23, of Freehold Township passed away tragically on Monday, May 2, 2016. Joseph was born at CentraState Medical Center, and was raised in Howell and Freehold Township. He enrolled in the FPAC program at Howell High School and graduated in 2011. Joseph also lettered as a wrestler and was a member of the National Honor Society. After attending Brookdale Community College, he transferred to NJIT and was currently a junior enrolled in the mechanical engineering program where he made the dean's list. Most recently, Joseph was inducted to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. A parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church and a member of the TKE Fraternity, Joe was a beloved son, devoted brother, adoring grandson, admiring nephew, caring cousin, and dear friend to many. Joseph was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Micalizzi. He is survived by his loving parents, John and Frances Micalizzi; two sisters, Christina Micalizzi and Gianna Micalizzi; paternal grandmother, Josephine Micalizzi of Staten Island; maternal grandparents, Jack and Jeanette Scianna of Staten Island; aunts, Carmella Cohen, Paula Guzman, Stephanie Lamia, Jeanette Lupolli, and Danielle Geissler; uncles, Nicholas Scianna and Frank Scianna; numerous cousins; and many friends. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, May 9, 2016 and Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
