Obituary of Eugene Isola
Dr. Eugene A. Isola, Jr., 76, of Jackson passed away at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Gene was born in Brooklyn, and had lived in Richmond Town, Staten Island before settling here in 2000. He graduated third in his class from NYU College of Dentistry in 1965 and then went on to serve his country by enlisting in the US Army at the rank of Captain at Fort Dix. Dr. Isola then joined the practice his father began in 1935, where he served the community of Brooklyn for over 45 years, a practice which two of his sons have now continued to practice in.
Gene was a renaissance man, and an artist with the practice of oil and canvas, mainly landscapes and wildlife. He would draw animal characters for his grandchildren. A fan of the Yankees and Jets, Dr. Isola also enjoyed the game of golf. He was a loving husband, hands-on father, doting grandfather, and pop-pop to two great grandchildren.
Gene is survived by his wife of 32 years, Victoria Isola; his children, Dr. Eugene A. Isola, III and his wife, Carolanne, of Monroe Township, Dr. Peter A. Isola and his wife, Eileen, of Spring Lake, Maryangela Ricciardi and her husband, Dr. Louis Ricciardi, of Manalapan, Joseph Isola and his wife, Pamela, of Monroe, Marion Siliato and her husband, Larry, of Miller Place, NY, Joseph Castro of Jackson, and Thomas Castro and his wife, Rose Mary, of Staten Island, NY; fifteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:30 PM with Words of Remembrance to follow at 6:30 PM.
