Obituary of Dorothy Heller
Dorothy Ruth Heller, 78, of Cape Coral, FL passed away at home on June 1, 2016. She was born in Lynbrook, NY, the daughter of the late Iver and Emma Peterson of Malvern, NY. She attended Malvern schools where she was a wonderful student and skilled athlete, excelling at field hockey and basketball. Dotty was a retired Freehold Regional High School bus driver who loved to travel, play tennis and spend time at the beach. Her greatest pleasure came from her grandchildren; watching their games and recitals, and hearing about their newest adventures. She will be best remembered for her contagious smile, wonderful laugh and joyous spirit that was loved by all.
She was predeceased by her husband of thirty-three years, Wallace G. Heller in 1993. Dotty is survived by her beloved children, Christopher Heller and his wife, Ana of Flemington, NJ, Tori Monahan and her husband, Matt of Cary, NC, and Walter Heller and his wife, Eileen of Milton, MA; six cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Brendan Heller, Kelley and Katie Monahan, and Emma and Wallace Heller; her brother, Donald Peterson of Whiting, NJ; and long-time companion, Matt Bailey of Cape Coral, FL.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C.
