Obituary of Matilda Webster

Matilda Webster, 92, of Lakewood, NJ, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at Bartley Health Care Center in Jackson, NJ. She was born in Smithburg, NJ and was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Webster retired from the Lakewood Township Municipal Utilities Authority in 2003 after 16 years of service. Prior to that, she was a clerk for H.B. Thomas 5 & 10, Lakewood, NJ for 40 years. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Lakewood, NJ. Mrs. Webster was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1971, and a brother and four sisters. Surviving are her three daughters, G. June Work of Lakewood, NJ, Georgeana "Betsy" Moreland of Holland, Pennsylvania and Patricia F. Johnson of Anderson, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grand children; 3 great great grandsons; two brothers, William Edgar Jr. of Jackson, NJ and George Edgar of Maryland; and three sisters, Geneva Kovacofsky of Lakewood, NJ, Phoebe Crammer of New Egypt, NJ and Naomi Kennett of Knoxville, Tennessee. Visiting at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Rd., Freehold Township on Sunday, Dec. 28 from 1 to 5 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend her 11 a.m Funeral Service on Monday at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery, Jackson, NJ.
