Obituary of Maureen Galary
Maureen Stalknecht Galary, 68, of Howell, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune City. She was born in Paterson, raised in Elmwood Park, then settled in Howell in 1985. Maureen worked as a school bus driver in Howell Township for over 15 dedicated years. She was a member of the Craft Group of Howell. Maureen loved cooking and shopping for bargains. She was an avid reader and loved her tabloid magazines and reality TV shows. She loved to travel. Some of her favorite trips were to Italy, Israel, and the family trip to Austria in 2014. Maureen met her husband Harris in 1977 while working for the Good Humor Corporation as a financial advisor in Fairfield, NJ. In 1988, Harris gave Maureen a 35mm film camera for her 10th wedding anniversary that she refused to replace. More than anything, she was an old fashioned woman, completely devoted to her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Stalknecht, 1964, and Elinor Stalknecht, 2010. Maureen is survived by her husband of 38 years, Harris Galary, of Howell; two daughters, Kristin Galary, of Howell, and Shannon Galary, of Fair Lawn; a Grandson, Adrian Godbolt, of Howell; two sisters, Patricia Liptak and her husband Emil, of Elmwood Park, NJ, and Lynn Stalknecht, of Phillipsburg, NJ; a brother, Paul Stalknecht, of Mt.
