Obituary of Matthew Marangelli
Matthew Marangelli, 77, of Freehold died on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. Mr Marangelli was born in Mola Di Bara, Italy. He came to the U.S. in 1938 and had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Freehold in 1997. He was a Long Shore Man for Local 1814, I.L.A. throughout the Brooklyn Pier for over 40 years. Mr. Marangelli was a Corporal in the U.S. Army serving in Washington during the Korean War. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Freehold.
He was predeceased by his wife, Julia in 2005 and a brother, John Marangelli. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Guy J. and Tina Marangelli of Manalapan, Alex L. and Patty Marangelli of Howell, Matthew and Maria Marangelli of Staten Island, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Jamie, Jennifer, Michael, Matthew, Lucia and Nicholas; one brother, Luke Marangelli of Connecticut; one sister, Cookie Tranzanio of Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation at Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Rd.(Route 524), Freehold on Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 and Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Relatives and friends may gather at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009 at the funeral home for the rite of committal followed by his 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Rd., Freehold, N.J.
