Obituary of William Cornine
William J. "Bill" Cornine, Sr., 62, of Freehold Township, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Bill was born in Morristown, was raised in Morris Plains and had lived in Randolph, Neptune, and Bradley Beach, before settling in Freehold Township in 1994. He worked as a dedicated Monmouth County Sheriff's Officer for 25 years at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, retiring in 2014. In his spare time, Bill was an avid reader of mysteries and new age novels. He was a devoted Giants fan, and enjoyed tending to the flowers in his garden. Bill also cherished his trips to Connecticut and Pennsylvania to play his lucky slots.
He was predeceased by his parents, Irving A. Cornine, Sr. and Mary Cornine, and a brother, Irving A. Cornine Jr. Bill is survived by his wife of 22 years Connie Cornine, of Freehold Township; six children, Jerri Cornine and her husband, Mike Walh, of Toms River, William Cornine, Jr, of Fayetteville, NC, Amanda Hubert and her husband, William, of Dry Fork, VA, Sylvia Campbell, of Neptune, Colleen Campbell, of Keyport, and Heather Campbell of Freehold Township; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings, Thomas Cornine and his wife, Kaye, of Charleston, SC, Lynn Cornine of Jackson, Paul Cornine and his wife, Paula, of Warwick, NY, Kenneth Cornine and his wife, Jennifer, of Jackson, Arthur Cornine and his wife, Elizabeth, of New Hartford, NY, and George Cornine and his wife, Jenna, of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Friday, July 15, 2016. Cremation will be private.
