Obituary of George Meicke
George B. Meicke, 82, of Freehold went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 after passing away at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Hoboken and had lived in Maywood prior to moving here in 1983. A US Army veteran, George was the owner operator of Meicke Trucking along with his brothers and nephews, and in retirement was a bus driver for the Freehold Regional High School District. He enjoyed saltwater fishing and crabbing at Shark River, as well as walking on the boardwalk in Ocean Grove with his wife.
He was predeceased by two brothers; five sisters; and his stepson, Philip P. Coyle, Jr. in 2002. George is survived by his wife, Marilyn Meicke; daughter, Denise Meicke of MA; stepson, Bryan Coyle and his wife, Maria, of FL; stepdaughter, Christine Smith of Jackson; four grandchildren, AnnMarie Coyle, Alyssa Coyle, John Cassiere and Rachel Meicke; one great granddaughter, Alivia; siblings, Sue Capoano of Secaucus; Elizabeth Bracconeri of Tuckerton; and James Meicke and his wife, Carole, of Freehold; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Abundant Life Church of God, 632 Colts Neck Road (Route 537), Freehold on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral service on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Abundant Life Church of God with Pastor Chris Fraley officiating. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
