Obituary of William Holohan
William "Bill" J. Holohan, 76, of Freehold Township, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at CentraState Medical Center. Bill was born in Manhattan and was raised and had lived in the Bronx, Astoria, and Matawan before moving to Freehold Township in 1973. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Lt. Col. serving for over 25 years on active duty and in the reserves. Bill also worked for the Girl Scouts of America, NYC, NY as the Director of Purchasing, for over 30 years until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Holohan; twin daughters, Kim Saniscalchi and her husband, John, of Howell and Tracy Ziemba and her husband, Edward of Barnegat; a son, William P. Holohan and his wife, Karen of Barnegat; six grandchildren, John, Christopher, Eddie, Ryan, Jaclyn, and Carly.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 8:45 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Gabriels's Catholic Church, 100 North Main Street, Marlboro, NJ. Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery.
