Obituary of Marie DeSanctis
Marie DeSanctis, 88, of Farmingdale, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mrs. DeSanctis was born, raised and had lived in downtown Brooklyn, N.Y. before moving to Farmingdale in 1979. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale. Mrs. DeSanctis was loved by everyone who knew her. She worked part-time at A & S, Brooklyn, N.Y.
She was predeceased by her husband, Emanuel "Jack", in 1999; a brother, Rocco M. Catalano, in 2008; and a son-in-law, Henry Montuori, in 2006. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Carmine and Joy DeSanctis of Belmar; a daughter, Mary Montuori of East Greenwich, R.I.; a sister, Rose Scoma of Lancaster, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Marie, Anthony, Matthew, Angela, Stephen, Suzanne, and Rocco and seven great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by her 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Chapel, North Main Street, Farmingdale.
