Obituary of Joseph Maher
Joseph P. "Matt" Maher, 84, of Manalapan passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan. Joseph was born in New York City and had lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Manalapan in 2002. He was the founder and owner of Sign Mart in Brooklyn, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Holy Family Church choir for 25 years. Joseph served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII.
Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is predeceased by a son, Gary; a daughter, Gayle Lawlor; and two brothers, James and Robert.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 8:45 AM for the Procession to St. Gabriel's Historic Catholic Church, 549 Route 520, Marlboro, NJ for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joseph's name may be made to Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or the Michael J.
