Obituary of Wilhelm Oberschewen

Wilhelm "Bill" Oberschewen, 84, of Belmar passed away tragically along with his son, Mark at home on Monday, August 15, 2016. Bill was born in Germany and came to the United States in the 1960's and settled in Bayonne. He moved to Edison and lived there until moving to Belmar this summer. Bill retired as a painter and prior to that owned and operated a deli. Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Susanne Oberschewen. He is survived by his grandchildren, Michael and Gina and their mother, Michele Intonato of Farmingdale; a brother, Hank Oberschewen of Hackensack; his nephews, Michael Rapp of Florida and Joseph Oberschewen of Paramus; and a niece, Jennifer Young of Pennsylvania. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friend are invited to gather at 8:30 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the funeral home for the procession to his 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Avenue, Farmingdale.
