Obituary of Marilyn Goldsmith
Marilyn "Duffy" Goldsmith, 77, of Farmingdale, was called home Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at her residence, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Goldsmith was born in Ridgefield Park and had lived in Edison before moving to Farmingdale 16 ½ years ago. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Matawan. She enjoyed weekly bridge games with the Blue-Haired Bridge Club. She was a vice president of GBI Inc., Farmingdale.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick S. Goldsmith, in 2007; a grandson, Reed Goldsmith, in 2006; a brother, Thomas Peake; and a sister-in-law, Edith Barber. She is survived by four sons and their spouses, Thomas and Debra Goldsmith of Farmingdale, Randall Goldsmith of Farmingdale, Michael and Nancy Goldsmith of Farmingdale, and Ronald and Judi Goldsmith of Farmingdale; a daughter, Cathy Goldsmith of Farmingdale; 11 grandchildren, Reed, Mallory, Wesley, Ali, Lindsay, Rachel, Bridget, Kelly, Tyler, Megan, and Molly; a sister, Janet Beck of Woodbridge; four nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Petey.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009 at the funeral home, with Deacon Terry Suruda officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marilyn's memory may be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church, 18 Ryers Lane, Matawan, NJ 07747 and would be appreciated.
