Obituary of Catherine Connell

Catherine "Katie" Mary Connell (nee Delli Santi), 89, of Jackson passed away at home on Saturday, September 10, 2016. The daughter of the late Lorenzo Delli Santi of San Gregorio Magno, Italy, and Mary Delli Santi (nee Gesumaria), Catherine was born and raised, with her many brothers and sisters, on Pacific Street in Newark, NJ. Together with her husband, Thomas, they spent the duration of their 50 year marriage residing in Union, NJ where they raised their family. Catherine adored animals and was beloved by her children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas W. Connell; and her siblings, Conchetta Delli Santi, Rose Delli Santi, Antonette Queli, Josephine Delli Santi, Marie Bartone, Frank Delli Santi, Dominic Delli Santi, Larry Delli Santi, Patty Delli Santi and Teresa Donnelly. Catherine leaves behind her children, Mrs. Carol Catherine Vogel and her husband, Roger "Billy" of Jackson, Thomas Jay Connell of Hickory, NC, and Kelly Ann Connell of Scotch Plains; her grandchildren, Carrie Vogel of Howell, Roger Vogel of Jackson, and Thomas N. Connell of Portland, OR; and great-grandson; Liam Thomas of Cong, County Mayo, Ireland. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 11:00 AM graveside service in Graceland Memorial Park, 1900 Galloping Hill Road, Kenilworth.
