Obituary of Radovan Sokolovski
Radovan Sokolovski of Toms River passed away at home on Sunday, September 18, 2016, just one day after his 85th birthday. He was born in Macedonia and moved to America in 1968, settling in Paterson and Elizabeth. Prior to coming to America, he served in the Yugoslavian Military serving in the Air Corp. Radovan was self-employed as a carpenter doing house renovations throughout New Jersey, loved to play European football and was an avid chess player.
Radovan was predeceased by his wife, Vaska Sokolovski in 2012; and his daughter-in-law, Denise Sokolovski in July of 2016. He is survived by one son, Aco Sokolovski of Freehold Township; two daughters, Mirjana Eftoski and her husband, Peter, of Colonia, and Snezana Trybulec and her husband, Leo, of Monroe; two grandsons, Alex Eftoski and his wife, Kristin, and Nicholas Sokolovski; and one great granddaughter, Olivia Rae Eftoski.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 7:30 AM for the procession to his 9:30 AM funeral service at Sts. Kiril & Metodija Macedonian Orthodox Church, 1050 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
