Obituary of Barbara Mason
Barbara Joan Mason, 75, of Howell passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at home on Thursday, September 29, 2016. Barbara was born and raised in the West Brighton section of Staten Island and had lived in Matawan, Maine, and Pittstown before moving to Howell in 2006. Along with her husband, Richard, she owned and operated Barb's House of Ceramics until their retirement. Barbara also worked at Friendly's and the Buttonwood Manor both in Matawan. She was a member of the Tangled Thread Knit and Crochet Club at the Howell Senior Center. Barbara had a love for arts and crafts, entertaining, and long conversations on the phone. Near or far, you were never far from Barbara's love. Barbara was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grand and great grandmother.
Barb was predeceased by her parents, Elden and Grace Archibald and two brothers, Patrick and John Archibald. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Richard Mason II; a son, Richard Mason III of Melbourne, Florida; a daughter, Cheryl Toner and her husband, Jimmy of Pittstown; a special nephew, Mark Mason of Greenville, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Kelli Teglas and her husband, Nick, James Toner and Timothy Toner and his fiancée, Maegan, Richard Mason, IV and his fiancée, Lisa, Philip Mason and his wife, Katie, Jessica Mason and her fiancé, Patterson; and three great grandchildren, Walker Mason Teglas, Makayla Paige Toner, and Abigail Rose Toner; two brothers, Robert Archibald of Old Bridge and William Archibald of South Carolina; many nieces, nephews and their families; and many dear friends.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 12:00 to 3:00 PM with her funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM.
