Obituary of Herbert Kaufman
Herbert G. Kaufman, Jr., 50, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 9, 2016. Born in Neptune, Herb was a lifelong resident of Freehold Township. He was a plumber working throughout the State of New Jersey, and a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Herb was a member of Millhurst Fire Department, Englishtown Fire Department and most recently Freehold Township Independent Fire Company #1. He was an avid Giants, Yankees and Mets fan, and enjoyed watching WWE with his son. A man who possessed a gentle warmth, he will be best remembered as a family man.
Herb is survived by his wife of 18 years, Courtney Engel Kaufman; his children, Gianna Kaufman and Daniel Kaufman, all of Freehold Township; mother, Marion Maury of Freehold Borough; brother, Eric Kaufman of Howell; and many loving cousins.
A visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:00 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the funeral home for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold.
