Obituary of John Fraraccio

John Michael Fraraccio, 70, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at VA Hospital in Lyons following a courageous battle with Alzheimers. John was born in Jersey City and lived in Perth Amboy, Edison and Freehold before settling in Jackson in 2006. John was a proud US Army Veteran having served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a founder of the Perth Amboy Youth Football League, and was a parishioner at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. John loved watching college football, especially Penn State, and he enjoyed flowers and vegetable gardening. During the time he lived at South Knolls, he swam every day, and was known as "Johnny Garage" by his friends in the neighborhood who hung out in his garage with him. John taught his grandchildren all about life, and passed on to them his love of playing bocce ball. He was predeceased by his father, John L. Fraraccio in 1995; and his son-in-law, Mark Maggiore in 2005. John leaves behind his loving wife of 26 years, Rosalind Fraraccio; son, John F. Fraraccio; daughter, Jennifer Maggiore Ouellette and her husband, Corbiey, of Fords; two stepsons, Richard Ciampa and his wife, Tabatha, of Old Bridge and Ryan Ciampa and his wife, Andrea, of East Brunswick; mother, Elizabeth Fraraccio of Edison; eight grandchildren, Jared and Jordan Fraraccio, Mya Maggiore, Jameson Ouellette, and Julia, Jason, Matthew and Tyler Ciampa; brother, Paul Fraraccio and his wife, Kathleen, of Carteret; two brothers-in-law, Michael Tozzolino of Union and Louis Galella and his wife, Carol, of Edison; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 8:15 AM for the procession to his 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson. A burial of ashes will take place at a date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Post Office Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
