Marietta, Thank you for calling me to let me know about your father. As I told you when we spoke, I have many fond memories of my time as his secretary at Ft Monmouth. Because I had trouble deciphering his writing I would pop into his office every other minute to ask what a word was so he started typing the drafts! Then he’d call me into his office and I would stand behind him, fanning cigar smoke out of the way as we went over what he had typed. I was so nervous when I accepted the position because I thought he was going to be difficult to work for but as it turned out, he was one of my favorite bosses of all time. All it took was taking the time to get to know him. He’s the only boss that I stayed in touch with throughout the years and I always looked forward to the notes he wrote in his Christmas cards even if I couldn’t decipher every word! ;- ) It's hard to believe that it has been 36 years since I've seen him. Obviously he made an impression on me for I will never forget him!
Jim and Family, I'm so sorry to hear of your father's passing. He was a great man. I 'll always remember him driving us to or from the movies with his dry humor and the cigar smoke that filled the big Chrysler. Our prayers, Tom and Eve Caruso and Family
