In Memoriam Comments for my loving brother EddiePetrosky:12-3-16 Eddie was a great brother growing up...with lots of memories Generous,always loving and kind He was very good sports...particularly in baseball as a pitcher Oh ,how he loved his dog Max...who he rescued from an abusive situation He was forever that great story teller...had a great memory of the past... Eddie was my PROTECTOR too! One story EDDIE proudly tells is that on one occasion in 1961 ... ...while living on Jackson St in Hoboken ... I was 15,EDDIE 17 and while I was outside my house ...across the street talking with some friends... ... and a car pulls up...2 older guys jump out and start pushing me around for apparently no reason...I have NO CLUE to this day why !!! Thank God...EDDIE saw the whole thing from the 3rd floor window and jumped into action like BatMan...saved my day and surely rescued me from potential danger! Those two guys did not do so well! And so...we all reflect today on... The LOSS and DEATH of a dear loved ones ...a mother,father,brother,sister son,daughter...a friend ...like losing my brother EDDIE ...is as SAD as it gets in this life!! In reality...The EVENTUALITY and STING of DEATH... is something we ALL personally must come to reconcile with ... ....as ALL of US... will inevitably experience DEATH as the years go by ....something I know I don't like to even think about much! Often,we first turn to...FAMILY & FRIENDS for ... ...COMFORT and Words of Consolation Ultimately & THANKFULLY ...I turn to Jehovah God for the answers ... And with such...I am truly full of HOPE for EDDIE and COMFORTED ...from God's Word the Bible For example... 2Co 1:3 "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of ALL COMFORT, 4who comforts us in ALL our TRIALS, so that we may be able to COMFORT others in any sort of trial ... ...with the COMFORT that we receive from God." Romans 15:4 "For all the things that were written aforetime (in the Bible) .. ...were written for our instruction...that through our ENDURANCE ....and through the COMFORT from the Scriptures ,we might have HOPE." So...If I may ...I would love to share ...some beautiful COMFORTING promises from... ... THE SOURCE of Life himself Jehovah God ...in his Word the Bible... that I have come to know and love. Acts 17:31 "Because he has SET a DAY on which ... he purposes to JUDGE the inhabited earth in righteousness .... by a man whom he has appointed, and he has provided a GUARANTEE to ALL men ... ...by RESURRECTING him from the DEAD" For Example...at John 11:20-26. ....You may remember ... The resurrection account of Lazarus ...where even Jesus CRIED!! John 11:20-26 states: "20 When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him; but Mary kept sitting at home. 21 Martha then said to Jesus: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would NOT have DIED. 22 Yet even now I know ...that whatever you ask God for, God will give you.” 23 Jesus said to her: “Your brother will RISE.” 24 Martha said to him: “I know he WILL RISE in the RESURRECTION on the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he DIES, will come to LIFE 26 and everyone who is living and exercises faith in me will never die at all. Do you believe this?” So...Martha knew of RESURRECTION HOPE ...possibly from such Hebrew Scriptures as... Job14:14 "If a man DIES, can he LIVE again? I will wait all the days of my compulsory service (in the grave) ...until my RELIEF comes." Dan 12:13 "But as for you, go on to the end. You will REST... ...but you will STAND UP for your lot at the end of the days" Further confirmation of the RESURRECTION Hope is at... Acts 24:15 "And I have HOPE toward God, which HOPE these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a RESURRECTION of both the righteous and the unrighteous. " Joh 5:28, 29 further states 29 "Do NOT be AMAZED at this, for the hour is coming in which ... ....ALL those in the MEMORIAL TOMBS ... will hear his voice ...and COME OUT, THOSE who did good things to a RESURRECTION of life, and THOSE who practiced vile things to a RESURRECTION of judgment." (That certainly seems AMAZING to me!) At Isaiah 26:19 it says...Jehovah God...PROMISES that ...the DEAD will LIVE AGAIN ....They will be brought...BACK to LIFE ....That is the HOPE of the RESURRECTION Isaiah 26:19 "Your DEAD will LIVE...My corpses will RISE UP Awake and shout joyfully...You residents in the DUST! For your dew is as the dew of the morning ,And the earth will let those POWERLESS in DEATH come to LIFE." It should be noted that: The Bible compares DEATH to 'SLEEP 'more than (50+)fifty times. After DEATH we are ASLEEP, we are UNCONSCIOUS ...we are NOT aware of the passing of TIME or of what is going on around us. TIME STANDS STILL AS IT WERE! That is what death is like ! The Bible says, at Ec 9:5 "For the living know that they will DIE,but the DEAD know nothing at all" Psalm 146:4 His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground;On that very day his thoughts perish Psalm 115:17 The dead do not praise Jah;Nor do any who go down into the silence of death Therefore...since the DEAD are conscious of NOTHING at all... ...it will seem as if the moment you died... ...was the moment you were resurrected back to life!! How AMAZING is that! Yet ,another loving blessing from Jehovah God The majority of mankind ...will live on earth forever... Ps 37:29 states " The righteous will possess the EARTH...And they will LIVE FOREVER on it" Very simply...that is God's will for the EARTH...and we can be apart of it! Yes..right here on EARTH...we'll see EDDIE again Yes...we'll see your lost loved ones again too And ...We can take this PROMISE to the bank as it were ...GUARANTEED (Acts17:31). WHY SO...???? Joshua 23:14 "Now look! I am about to DIE, and you well know with ALL your heart... and with ALL your soul that... ... NOT 'one WORD' out of ALL the good PROMISES that Jehovah your God has spoken to you has failed. They have ALL come TRUE for you. NOT one WORD of them has failed" Isaiah 55:11 "So my WORD that goes out of my mouth ...WILL BE . It will NOT...return to me WITHOUT results, But it will CERTAINLY ACCOMPLISH whatever is my delight ,And it will have SURE SUCCESS... in WHAT I send it to do." Isaiah 25:8 8 "He will swallow up DEATH FOREVER,And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the TEARS from ALL faces. The reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, For Jehovah himself has spoken it" 1 Cor 15:25-26 25 "For he must rule as king until God has put all enemies under his feet.+ 26 And the last enemy, DEATH...is to be brought to NOTHING" Wow...DEATH NO MORE...sign me up!! The very thought of DEATH is UNNATURAL because ...none of us every wants to DIE...because ...Jehovah has ..."put eternity in our hearts." Ec 3:11 "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has even put ...ETERNITY in their HEART; yet mankind will never find out the work that the true God has made from start to finish." ( Interestingly...even when we live FOREVER...we'll never know all Jehovah knows...we'll always be learning!) Rev 21:3-4 3 "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say : “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will ...wipe out every TEAR from their eyes, and DEATH will be NO more, NEITHER will mourning ...NOR outcry ...NOR pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." So...as sure as the the Sun rises as sure as there is Jehovah God above We will see ...EDDIE AGAIN WE will see ...your lost loved ones again For Jehovah God almighty himself..has spoken it!
