Obituary of Phyllis Palangio

Phyllis Palangio, 97, of Manalapan, died Thursday, March 19, 2009, at her residence. Mrs. Palangio was born in London, England, came to the U.S. in 1929, had lived in West New York, and has been a Monmouth County resident for 40 years. She was a dressmaker with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union in New York and New Jersey for over 35 years, retiring in 1977. She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1969. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Candy Langan Sattenspiel and Dr. Sigmund Sattenspiel, with whom she lived; two grandchildren and their spouses, Stacy and Mark Panaccione of Howell, and Sean and Sheila Langan of Jackson; and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Isabella Panaccione. Visiting will be from 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21 until the services at 3:30 p.m. at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Final disposition will be private.
