Obituary of James Hulsart
James Hulsart III, 71, of Adelphia, passed away at home Saturday, January 14, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Adelphia. James honorably served in the United States Army at during the Vietnam War at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He retired in 1995 as a machinist for 3M in Freehold after 25 years of service. James was a dedicated life member of the Adelphia Fire Company and loved to drive the Ford Firetruck during the Memorial Day parade. He treasured spending his summers on Island Beach State Park and was a long-time visitor to Assateague Island with family and friends. He enjoyed telling stories, snowmobiling, working on racecars and hot rods, visiting the Englishtown Flea Market, watching Jeopardy, and reading.
He is survived by his three children, Jennifer Sweetnam and her husband, Kevin of Freehold, James R. Hulsart IV of Florida, and Jeremiah Hulsart and his wife, Lauren of Brielle; and six grandchildren, Kevin Sweetnam Jr., Julia Sweetnam, Chase Hulsart, Jesse Hulsart, Sean Sweetnam, and Daniel Sweetnam; and a sister, Mary Joan Hulsart of Tinton Falls
A memorial service will be at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia (Route 524) Freehold Township on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will be private. Memorial contribution in James's name may be made to the Adelphia Fire Company, P.O. BOX 125, Adelphia, NJ 07710-0125.
